The Grandmaster's Approach to Financial Sovereignty

The Grandmaster’s Approach to Financial Sovereignty

Pinto’s Column is the foundational source for the “Checkmate Your Debt” philosophy. Far from being just another personal finance blog, it posits that achieving financial freedom is not primarily an exercise in mathematics, but a rigorous application of strategy and behavioral psychology.

Fiscally Pro – User Guide

How to Master Your Money

A complete guide to using the Fiscally Pro dashboard. Learn how to track spending, manage psychology, and build real wealth.

🧠 The Philosophy

Fiscally Pro isn’t just a spreadsheet. It’s designed around Behavioral Finance. Traditional apps just record history; this tool helps you change the future by visualizing the cost of your habits and the potential of your savings.

  • Don’t just track spending, track value.
  • Don’t just save, fight inflation.
  • Don’t just budget, manage your impulses.
Core
📊

The Dashboard

Your financial cockpit. It updates instantly as you add data.

Net Cash Flow

This is your “True Balance.” It takes your income and subtracts not just expenses, but also subscriptions and transfers to savings. If this is positive, you are building wealth.

Income Modes (Freelance vs. Salary)

Go to Settings to toggle between Salary (Net Pay) and Freelance (Gross Revenue). In Freelance mode, the dashboard shows a “Tax Burn” bar so you know how much to set aside.

Psychology
🧊

Impulse Freeze (Doom Spending)

The Problem: Emotional spending (“Doom Spending”) destroys budgets.

The Solution: Instead of buying an item immediately, log it in the Impulse Freeze tab. The item stays locked for 24 hours. After the timer expires, if you still want it, you can buy it. Often, the urge fades.

Planning
🛡️

Inflation-Proof Goals

Most people save for today’s prices, not tomorrow’s. When you create a Fund (e.g., for a car), you set a “Target Year.”

The app automatically calculates inflation (default 3%) and shows you the Real Target. Example: A $10,000 car today will cost ~$11,590 in 5 years. We help you save for the $11,590.

Advanced Tools
🏚️

The Rust Tracker

Your Net Worth isn’t just cash; it’s assets too. But assets lose value. The Rust Tracker lets you log big purchases (Laptops, Phones, Gear). It applies a depreciation curve so you can see the current resale value of your stuff, not just what you paid for it.

Decision Making
🛠️

DIY Calculator

Should you hire a pro or do it yourself? Enter the Pro Cost, Material Cost, and Hours required. The app calculates your “Implied Hourly Wage.” If you “earn” $5/hour fixing your own sink, but your time is worth $50/hour, hire the pro!

Ghost Values (The Multiverse)

Every time you log an expense, look for the purple text: “Ghost Value.”
